WILD FERMENTATION

Banjo Harris Plane, Sommelier of Bar Liberty, takes some of his favourite Wild Fermented Wines against the Wild Fermented Ales of Garage Project (NZ) and Wild Beer Co (UK).

BELGIAN BEERS VS SCOTCH WHISKEYS

Want to take your appreciation of beer to a whole new level and evolve your palate to include the nuances of whiskey? This session will open your mind to the rich flavours of Belgian beers, and how they compare to some excellent whiskeys. 

Hosted at craft beer venue Amber in Hawthorn, who are teaming up with their friends and whiskey experts at the Kilburn for this educational event.

BEER IN A HEN'S NEST

A seasonal look at beer and food pairings for the modern Melbournian. Acclaimed chef Scott Pickett joins forces with Boatrocker Brewing Co. to showcase a range of hand picked seasonal beers and a three course meal to match.

GARAGE PROJECT LAB

Enter the Garage Project Lab at Foresters Pub & Dining, where you’ll get stories and live demonstrations of how they extract the flavours for their beers and what interesting things they can do to them after brewing to transform the flavours. It’ll be like a science fair with beers!

THE HONG KONG CRAFT REVOLUTION

Eight of Hong Kong’s best breweries are shipping their kegs all the way to Melbourne.
Located in a vibrant Asian community with the some of the trendiest and diverse set of places for food and drinks, Vic Bar will feature 16 styles to be rotated throughout the week!

THE GREAT WESTERN DEGUSTATION

The Junction Beer Hall have partnered with some of the Western Suburbs finest Chefs and are dishing out one heck of a quality night. Five meticulously designed dishes paired with some of the finest crafted brews all hailing from the West of Melbourne - Cavalier Brewing, Blackman's, Hop Nation and much more.

THE ULTIMATE MELBOURNE BREW TOUR PARTY

The day kicks off in the heart of Melbourne in Fed Square (with a bus also leaving from Bad Shepherd in Cheltenham) where you’ll be picked up and taken to visit 4 of Melbourne’s most exciting breweries.

Kaiju! & Exit (The Dandy South Massive), Dainton Family Brewing, Bad Shepherd and the Boatrocker Barrel Room. To finish off the day you’ll be dropped off at the Terminus Hotel for a post brew day party with beers from all the breweries, DJs, and all the brewers to party on into the night.

TINS OF GLORY

TINS OF GLORY is a new sport invented by the Balter crew, where the humble tinnie hits centre stage as an implement of mass game action.

Teams of two get 4 tinnies per team and 60 seconds to slide them down a 6m long bench, aiming to get closest to the ‘pleasure zone’ at the end. Highest score progresses to the next round. 

The winners will receive a Balter pack valued at $1000 and enjoy the prestige of being the first World Champions of possibly the funnest game to ever be played in a bar. They’ll also be launching a brand new Balter beer on the night.


STAFF PICKS

If you've still got a few spots to fill in your Good Beer Week adventure, these events are sure to deliver!

CINEMA SESSION @ THE STOLBERG

The Stolberg will be converting it's Grand Hall into a cinema space for the first time.
The films being screened are two classic Australian flicks, George Miller's Mad Max, and Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. Pizza, pop corn, and beer from 4pm, screening from 6pm with the night wrapping up around 11pm.

BOGAN TINNIE PARTY

To kick off the shenanigans at BrewCult Bar for Good Beer Week they'll be throwing Acca Dacca on the stereo and cans in the eskies in an all out, mullet-inducing epic party. Come and sample some of the best canned froths from around the world while they party like Brocky has won Bathurst.

STONE & WOOD STREET PARTY

A Sunday Session at Ladro TAP where you'll swim in sounds from our DJ, feast on unlimited Ladro wood-fired pizza & hop-corn, all kicked off with a S&W beer to wash it down. 

 A selection of S&W's finest and limited release brews will be on TAP at bar prices all night long. Think 70's beach boys party vibes where the only cheese is on your pizza.

MOON DOG AT PRINCE ALFRED

There is good beer on Bay Street and the good folk at Moon Dog are happy to share their intel with Prince Alfred locals, with a four course menu and six awesome Moon Dog brews.
Love Tap, Old Mate, and Mack Daddy plus three 'more adventurous' Moon Dog brews, and a four course menu.
